Green Schools
Last week our Green Schools Committee had their inspection for their work over the last 2 years on the Biodiveristy theme.
In order to get the new flag, our students demonstrated the contributions they made to the school community. Examples were leaving a wildlife habitat grow at the back of the gym for animals. Reduce the amount of pesticides used in and around the school grounds. Creating awareness within the whole student body about biodiversity. Carrying out surveys and many more. They also had to show how they have maintained the previous themes we have worked on, such as Water, Energy, Litter and Travel.
2 County Council members held the inspection and were delighted with the work they saw throughout the school, and outlined they would be recommending us for the Green Flag.
A big thank you to the committee who have worked hard during their time on the Biodiversity theme.
